Description
A bird of prey sits on a gnarled branch and leans forward, watching something below. Its feathers are cut from stainless steel and laid in rows from the head to the long tail, and the heat tint turns them gold, honey and bronze.
The branch is forged with knots and short side shoots and stands on a flat stainless steel plate, so the sculpture is stable on a terrace, a stone slab or a sideboard. Nothing is painted; the colour is the steel itself after heating.
Birds of prey are among our favourite subjects. Compare it with the eagle sitting on a tree, or see all the bird and animal sculptures.
